Physics 244

Modern Physics is a fantastic course designed to introduce us to fundamental concepts of quantum mechanics and the energy and interactions with matter.  Typically taken as a sophomore, this is the first class you’ll take with almost exclusively by physics majors, and we begin to learn the practice of physics.  Topics include fluid mechanics, thermal physics, kinetic theory, introduction to statistical mechanics, origins and experimental foundation of quantum
physics.  There will be a strong laboratory component in this course.
